Da Hong Pao is a famous, premium tea from the Wuyi Rock Tea group of Oolong. According to legend, Da Hong Pao or Big Red Robe, acquired its name from the Ming Dynasty when an emperor’s mother was believed to be cured of illness by tea from four special bushes which were then cloaked in red robes. It has aromas of blackberry, apricot and cinnamon and is rounded and velvety.
